Aloha Mobile Market Ohana,

Things will be a little different this week, for one thing, pick up in town will be one hour later from 1-2:30. Please check our other emails to you for details and make sure you know your time window.

Also, the Mobile Market staff will all be wearing masks and gloves during packing and pick up. (Big mahalo to customer Betts Cruz and Seed of Love’s Ketty Mobed for helping us out with masks!) We look forward to seeing your smiling eyes in the same gear this week.

The timing for this is a bit off with our limited access to groceries at the moment  …  but we have started a community recipe board on Pinterest where we can all pin and share links to recipes to get ideas for new ways to prepare, preserve, and store local veggies, both familiar and unfamiliar.

Click here to check out the Sustʻāina ble Molokai Community Recipe Board and here to see our entire Pinterest page.  We will be adding recipe pins weekly so bookmark it and be sure to check back! If you would like to join as a collaborator so you can add sections and recipes, please email [email protected] and I will send you an invite!

Robin and Dano from Waialua Permafarm let us know they have lots of bi-color and purple beans this week!

How to make Super Simple Skillet Beans!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Toss beans with sesame oil and soy sauce (or NaʻIkeʻs Hot Shoyu would be equally delicious!)
Place beans in cast iron skillet or spread on a cookie sheet and roast until crispy approximately 15-20 minutes! Give ʻem a toss and rotate the pan half-way through… Enjoy!

Drive-through Pick Up Protocol:

  • Please stay in your vehicle and proceed to the front of the line. When it’s your turn, please put your car in PARK until we give you the go-ahead. (Just to keep our staff safe!)
  • As we don’t want to touch your vehicles, we ask that you please tell us where to put your order and open the window you wish to us to use.
  • After you pick up your order, please pull through. You may park at a distance (there is plenty of room!) to reorganize your order into chill bags, coolers, etc. (Please take care not to block traffic.)
  • Please avoid congregating. (Sigh. We know itʻs hard.)
