Impact

Since its founding in 2010, Sustʻāinable Molokai has been working alongside our community to restore ʻāina momona (thriving people and abundant land). Our impact is rooted in culture, relationships, and a deep commitment to Molokai’s self-sufficiency and resilience. Across our Impact Dashboards featured, we see the strength of this collective work: supporting our Molokai-based farmers and food producers, distributing hundreds of food boxes annually to kūpuna and keiki, and expanding access to fresh, locally grown food through island-wide deliveries.

Our efforts extend beyond food systems. Through energy resilience initiatives, thousands of community members have shaped a path toward 100% renewable energy, ensuring solutions are community-led and grounded in Molokai values. Through our Hui Up! Energy-Efficient Appliance Exchange Program, we have also helped Molokai households reduce energy use and utility costs by replacing older, inefficient appliances with more energy-efficient models.

Historic environmental stewardship, landback initiatives, and climate adaptation planning further reflect our commitment to mālama ʻāina and long-term sustainability.

This page reflects our ongoing journey to build a more abundant, resilient, and self-sufficient Molokai for generations to come.
