Molokai

Overview

Learn what our community thinks about climate change

We collected nearly 1000 surveys through in-person workshops, online surveys, and other outreach efforts and reached 2,000+ community members with locally prepared and sourced meals in the process!

The Molokai CCSLAR Plan

  • has an indigenous place-based perspective—meaning the planning process is led by kamaʻāina and long-time community leaders
  • incorporates appropriate technical land-use planning and coastal engineering expertise
  • utilizes this process as an opportunity to engage and develop our next generation of local leaders
  • will result in an action-oriented document that identifies the key climate change issues and ways to build greater community adaptability, resilience, and capacity in the years ahead
